The 35th Anniversary and Presentation awards for the 2008/09 season took place at the Cedar Court Hotel Wakefield on Sunday 7th June.

The day was well represented by the Yorkshire Junior Clubs along with guests from past and present, it was nice to see some of the people who first put the league together some 35 years ago, Alf Tattersfield, Dougie Hird, John Seymour and through the years a previous Secretary Douglas Eastwood along with ever present Maurice Oldroyd and Andy Harland, Martin Flynn and Kelly Barrett from the RFL.

Our sposors over the last 35 years FAM were represented by our friend and supporter of the League Trevor Rodwell.

We would like to thank the Cedar Court Hotel for all their help over the last 10 months and must say the venue for our celebration and the meal and service was excellent.

Our thanks also to Lea Roberts our comedian and who compared the day he was fantastic and worth every penny, if you have never seen him he would be ideal for any rugby or other dinner/presentation awards.

The day went really well and my thanks to Sinbad (Xavier Film Productions) who did a DVD for us celebrating the 35 years which opened the presentations and i know he spent a lot of time putting this together.

After the DVD Spen Allison and Carole Land from BARLA came and presented Colin Handforth and Michelle Huntington with BARLA Life Memberships which are well deserved by both people.

We then went into the U12s to U15s League winners which were presented to the clubs by Trevor Rodwell and the Challenge and Continuation Cups were re presented to the winners by Kelly Barrett. Finally the Broze Boot Award was presented, this year we have had more nominations than ever and rightly so and made it very difficult for us to select the winner bur after some deliberation the winner for 2008/09 went to Colin Cooper of Hunslet Parkside.
